Tamaskan Information
The Tamaskan Dog Register's motto is “Wolf-dog without the Wolf”, which should make its meaning perfectly clear, wolf dog without the wolf is just a dog, the Tamaskan has no Wolf content.
The Tamaskan Dog has a
wonderful temperament and makes a loving, loyal companion. They fit in well
with children and pets alike. However, they are not a dog that likes to be
left alone, and problems such as escaping and destructive behaviour may well
be encountered. As a "pack" dog they are better suited to the company of
another dog, or dogs, unless you can give them your full attention.
As regards to training, they
are very intelligent, but can be somewhat stubborn. With careful, gentle
persuasion, and lots of play reward, you can get them to comply (see
working gallery)
The Tamaskan Register is run by
dedicated people from the 'Dog World' who wish to promote this beautiful
breed. We are a register and not a society. Therefore, we do not have
members. We only keep records (including health) of all Tamaskan dogs in
order to encourage cooperation and communication with all Tamaskan owners.
We now have six Tamaskan Dog Clubs affiliated to our Register. The Tamaskan Society of Great Britain, The National Tamaskan Club of America &
and a new forum dedicated to the discussion of the Tamaskan Dog
