I have spoken to and visited a lot of breeders in my lifetime and I believe I can tell a good breeder from a bad breeder by what they do, say and the condition of their premises.

Having said this it is hard to judge breeders in another country when you have not visited, so I base my recommendations on feedback I have had from puppy purchasers and from my own communication with the breeders.

UK

For puppies and a good selection of stud dogs I would recommend Blustag Kennel.  Not only is she the main founder of the breed, but she has a vast knowledge of pedigrees, genetics, importing and exporting and she is always willing to help her purchasers or others asking for advice. She also has the cleanest kennels of anyone I have ever visited, including my own.

Torriarno Kennel also has an excellent black/grey stud dog who has all his health tests done. The owner of Torriarno is also an experienced breeder and is full of good advice.

USA

At the moment the majority of breeders in the USA have not successfully bred a litter yet.

However out of the ones that have I would recommend Tarheel who I am told provides excellent after care and has a real passion for the breed and the care of their puppies.

EUROPE

There is only one breeder successfully breeding in Europe at the moment and that is Muensterland who have recently bred their first litter, all of which were extremely well cared for and very well socialized.

Sylvæn is another breeder who will be breeding very shortly and I have to admit I am impressed with her attitude towards breeding and other dog related issues and I am sure that she will make a very good breeder once she gets started.

KENNELS TO AVOID

Rightpuppy kennels in USA produces Tamaskan crossed with other breeds and cross breeds and sells his dogs as Tamaskan Wolfdogs.

Rightpuppy does not do health testing and is a commercial puppy farming facility. The dogs bred at this kennel do not look like pure bred Tamaskan and they do suffer with health issues, most notably being epilepsy.

Hebridean Wolfdogs in Scotland are producing Tamaskan crossed with Czech wolfdogs.  Because of the addition of real wolf-dogs the temperament on these puppies cannot be guaranteed.

Alba kennels in Scotland. Alba kennels used to be registered with the TDR but because of hidden health issues (breeding from an epileptic dog) and falsifying paperwork she is no longer a registered breeder.

Takari kennel in USA has knowingly bred from a Tamaskan whose grandmother died from epilepsy She also mated her female to a mon orchid male. She has produced pie bald puppies leading many to believe she is out-crossing her dogs with other breeds and not producing pure Tamaskan.
