Short History of The Tamaskan Dog Showing Club.
In 2006 I created an online Tamaskan group on judgedogs.com an online dog showing club which accepted every breed of dog including crossbreeds (the shows were judged by the public), after talking with the owner he agreed to run a Tamaskan only show every month.
Later that year I created the subsite Tamaskan Dog Showing Club which monitored the progress of the judgedogs shows and I created the Tamaskan Dog of the Year Competition to encourage Tamaskan owners to take part, sadly by the end of 2006 only 8 dogs were taking part in the shows, regardless of this rossettes and trophies were still purchased and the winners of the first Tamaskan Dog of the Year competition were Blustag Star Burst at Blufawn, my own dog, best opposite sex was his mother Blustag Mystic Spirit and best puppy was Alba Ootek at Carron River.
In 2007 judgedogs.com closed down its website, unsure of what to do next I started holding the online dog shows on the Tamaskan Dog Showing Club subsite instead, but this time the shows were judged by real dog show judges and experianced Tamaskan breeders. In 2007 there were no seperate classes, there was just one big class which both puppy and adult entered.
It wasn't until 2008 that seperate classes were introduced, the first classes available were puppy and open. It was then that the Tamaskan shows really started to take off and new classes were introduced, junior and postgraduate.
In 2009 we now have 36 dogs entered and even more classes will be introduced minor puppy, special yearling and graduate. The Tamaskan shows are still free and the rossettes are now sponsered by The Tamaskan Dog Society of Great Britain.
I hope that in the years to come before Kennel Club recognition more people will become involved in showing their Tamaskan online.
Gook luck and happy showing!
